During a visit to Manipur, RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat made a striking statement about Hindu civilisation’s enduring role in the world. He argued that Hindu society is “immortal” and suggested that if Hindus were to disappear, “the world will cease to exist.”
Bhagwat contrasted Hindu civilisation with past empires, noting that while civilisations like Yunaan (Greece), Misr (Egypt), and Rome fell, Hindu society has persisted through millennia. He framed India or “Bharat” as the epicentre of an eternal civilisation rooted in dharma.

He also connected these remarks to the ongoing ethnic tensions in Manipur, stressing the importance of social harmony, civilisational strength, and long-term peace. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat “Without Hindus, the World Will Cease to Exist” In his view, the Hindu community has a duty not just to preserve its own traditions but to act as a global custodian of dharma.
Earlier, Bhagwat has said that “Hindu” is not strictly a religious label in the Sangh’s ideology but a civilisational and cultural descriptor. He also emphasised social unity within Hindus, calling for the elimination of internal divisions like caste.
