Romania-born startup Digitail announced it has secured $23 million in a Series B round led by Five Elms Capital, with participation from existing investors such as Atomico, Partech, Byfounders and Gradient. The new funding brings the company’s total funding to over $37 million and will enable a faster rollout of its AI-powered all-in-one software platform for veterinary practices worldwide.
Founded in 2018 by CEO Sebastian Gabor and CPO Ruxandra Pui, Digitail set out to address the fragmented, outdated software tools still used in many vet clinics. The platform aims to unify scheduling, medical records, invoicing, client communication, inventory management and a pet-parent app under one roof. Its suite of more than 15 AI workflows includes features such as intelligent patient intake and AI-dictated medical notes.
Solving Real-World Pain Points in Veterinary Clinics
While pet ownership continues to climb globally, many veterinary practices still rely on legacy systems or manual workflows. Gabor says the goal is to give clinics the tools to “see more patients and get home on time”. With recent investment, Digitail says it now serves over 10,000 veterinarians and 3 million pet-parents across independent clinics, multi-location practices and mobile veterinary services.

The funding will fuel product development, expand Digitail’s go-to-market efforts in North America including a new Toronto hub) and strengthen global scalability.
Why the Pet Care Industry is Catching the Eye of Investors
Digitail’s surge comes at a time when the pet care sector is undergoing digital transformation. In many markets, clinics are under pressure to upgrade their tools, manage rising demand and adopt telehealth or mobile services. Digitail is tapping into this trend with its cloud-native, AI-enhanced approach. The Series B round signals faith from growth-stage investors that veterinary software is shifting from back-office utility to strategic platform. Whether Digitail can turn this momentum into lasting leadership will depend on its ability to scale, execute and deliver measurable improvements for vets and pet-owners alike.
