PM Modi Addresses Nation After Operation Sindoor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Monday at 8 PM, marking his first public speech since India launched Operation Sindoor.

The operation was a military response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 civilians.

Modi’s 22-minute speech focused on India’s firm stance against terrorism, the success of Operation Sindoor, and the ceasefire with Pakistan. He praised the armed forces and outlined India’s new approach to countering terror threats.

Operation Sindoor A Pledge for Justice– Modi

Modi described Operation Sindoor as more than a military mission. “It is a reflection of the feelings of millions of Indians,” he said. Launched on May 7, the operation targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Over 100 terrorists were killed, including key operatives of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Modi emphasized the operation’s symbolic name, tied to the sindoor (vermilion) worn by married Hindu women, representing the grief of families affected by the Pahalgam attack.

“Terrorists dared to wipe the sindoor from our sisters’ foreheads, so India destroyed their headquarters,” he said.

The strikes hit terror hubs in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Muzaffarabad, setting a new benchmark in India’s fight against terrorism.

Zero Tolerance for Terrorism

The Prime Minister made it clear that India will not tolerate terrorism or nuclear blackmail from Pakistan. “Terror and talks cannot go hand in hand,” he said. Modi warned that any future terror attack on India would trigger a strong response.

“We will act at every place where the roots of terrorism are found,” he added. He accused Pakistan of supporting terrorism, pointing to evidence of their military bidding farewell to slain terrorists.

Modi stressed that India’s missiles and drones not only destroyed terror camps but also shattered Pakistan’s confidence. He dedicated the operation’s success to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of India, honoring the victims of the Pahalgam attack.

Ceasefire with Pakistan A Temporary Pause

Modi addressed the recent ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, announced on May 10 after four days of intense cross-border strikes. He called it a temporary measure, stating, “India will monitor Pakistan’s every move.” The ceasefire followed talks between the Directors General of Military Operations of both nations.

Modi noted that Pakistan had assured no further terrorist activities, prompting India to halt military actions. However, he warned that any violation would lead to severe consequences.

Sources indicate Modi gave clear orders to the armed forces: “If they fire bullets, we will respond with cannons.” The Prime Minister also hinted at revisiting the Indus Water Treaty, saying, “Blood and water cannot flow together.”

Salute to Armed Forces and National Unity

Modi praised the Indian Armed Forces for their bravery and precision during Operation Sindoor. “I salute their courage,” he said, crediting the army, navy, air force, spy agencies, and scientists for the operation’s success. He highlighted the use of BrahMos missiles and Israeli HARPY drones in destroying terror infrastructure.

Modi also called for national unity, urging citizens to stand together against terrorism. “When the nation is united, bold decisions can be taken,” he said. He concluded his speech with chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” dedicating the victory to every Indian. Actor Suniel Shetty echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of unity.

What’s Next for India-Pakistan Relations?

Modi clarified that any future talks with Pakistan would focus solely on terrorism and PoK. “Terror, trade, and talks cannot coexist,” he said. He reiterated India’s position that Pakistan must dismantle its terror infrastructure to avoid further conflict.

The Prime Minister’s speech signaled a new normal in India’s anti-terror policy, with Operation Sindoor as its cornerstone. While the ceasefire holds, tensions remain high, with India keeping its military bases on alert.

Modi’s address has been widely praised, with leaders like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath commending the operation’s decisive action.
