The far-right moment resisted from election
The PVV’s projected downturn carries significance. Geert Wilders and his party had previously shaken Dutch politics with a bold anti-immigration and populist agenda. Their current setback may suggest that while these themes remain potent, voters are signalling fatigue with instability or extreme rhetoric.
Nevertheless, the PVV remains a serious force in Dutch politics. Their voice and leverage, even from opposition, will continue to shape policy debates and coalition dynamics.
