BJP leaders accused the state government of administrative failure and demanded accountability. They alleged that poor planning and lack of coordination led to the chaos, putting public safety at risk.
The party called for stricter guidelines for large public events in the state.
Leaders from the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) dismissed the BJP’s allegations, calling them politically motivated. The party said appropriate measures were taken and that law enforcement acted promptly once issues emerged.
