Deivaseyal also referred to as Bhaskaran a youth wing leader of the DMK, over serious allegations of sexual harassment made by a college student. Opposition parties BJP and AIADMK have strongly condemned the DMK-led state government, accusing it of protecting the accused and failing to deliver justice.
The National Commission for Women NCW has already intervened, calling for an impartial probe into the case.
In response to the allegations, the DMK took internal action and removed Deivaseyal from his role as deputy organiser in the party’s youth wing. However, the opposition insists that the government must do more, demanding a full public investigation and systemic changes in how officials handle such complaints under the ruling administration.

This episode adds to a growing narrative of political scandal in Tamil Nadu, with both BJP and AIADMK leveraging the case to question CM M.K. Stalin’s leadership and the DMK’s commitment to law and order.
