When the trailer for Dhurandhar dropped in early December 2025, it immediately sparked buzz both admiration and controversy across India and Pakistan.
Many fans online praised the trailer for its high-octane action, sharp editing and gripping visuals. They called it one of the “most intense and cinematic” trailers in recent years, lauding the cast’s performances dhurandhar particularly that of Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna.
However, criticism followed too. Some viewers especially from Pakistan accused the film of misrepresenting Lyari’s history, reducing complex socio-political contexts to gangster tropes, and using sensitive real-life events for dramatic effect.
Moreover, the family of a real person depicted in the film raised objections, threatening legal action over what they said was disrespectful portrayal by the film’s makers.
