MUMBAI As speculation swirls about growing tensions within the Mahayuti alliance ahead of upcoming Maharashtra civic polls, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has publicly denied any breakdown in unity. In a statement on 1 December 2025, Shinde said that although some allies may contest elections separately, it doesn’t amount to internal rivalry.
Shinde emphasised that the alliance remains focused on development and governance, insisting: “Our agenda is the state’s progress.” Eknath He clarified that friendly contests among partners during civic-body elections are part of normal democratic activity and affirmed that no one is campaigning against any ally.
The remarks come amid raised political temperature in Maharashtra, with allegations of poaching of party workers and mutual distrust. The Deputy CM’s calm assurance echoing earlier denials of a “cold war” in the alliance — attempts to stem rumours of fracture and reassure supporters about stability.
