DK Shivakumar summoned by Delhi Police-EOW in National Herald case fights notice as “harassment”

DK Shivakumar summoned by Delhi Police-EOW in National Herald case fights notice as “harassment”

EOW issued a notice to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar and his brother D. K. Suresh in connection with the ongoing National Herald investigation. The notice, dated 29 November, dk instructs them to submit detailed financial and transaction records related to their donations and dealings with Young Indian — the company at the centre of the case or appear before investigators by 19 December 2025.

Authorities have asked for a complete breakdown of funds, the source and purpose of each transfer, any communication with Young Indian or associated entities, donation certificates, dk income-tax records, and other relevant documentation of financial links to the organisation.

Shivakumar condemned the notice, calling it “harassment” and suggesting that the move aims to target leaders of the Indian National Congress (INC), including Sonia Gandhi and the party’s broader leadership. He argued that he had already provided all necessary information to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) during its prior investigation and questioned the need for a separate police probe.
