Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda has criticised the Centre for what he called a failure to seriously address India’s worsening pollution crisis during parliamentary discussions.
Congress Allegations of Parliamentary Silence
Speaking in Parliament, Hooda accused the government of avoiding detailed debate on air pollution despite rising health concerns across major cities. He said repeated demands for structured discussions were ignored.
Hooda warned that pollution has turned into a nationwide health emergency, affecting children, the elderly, and working populations. He stressed that air quality issues are no longer seasonal but persistent.
The Congress leader questioned the effectiveness of existing pollution control measures, alleging weak enforcement and lack of accountability. He urged the Centre to present a clear roadmap with timelines and funding commitments.
