Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was deported from the United States and arrested by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) upon arrival in Delhi on November 19, 2025. This marks a significant breakthrough in India’s fight against transnational organized crime. His arrival in New Delhi on Wednesday marked the end of an international chase that lasted several months.
High-Profile Fugitive Brought Back to India
According to officials, U.S. authorities detained Anmol Bishnoi for immigration violations before confirming his deportation. Once he landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, NIA officers immediately took him into custody.

The agency had issued a lookout circular and was coordinating with Interpol, which had already issued a Red Corner Notice against him.
NIA Expected to Seek Custody for Interrogation
Moreover, officials emphasize that the interrogation will not only focus on his network’s overseas financing channels but will also examine the logistical support provided to operatives. In addition, investigators intend to explore his coordination with gangs operating from Pakistan and the Middle East. Ultimately, the inquiry aims to uncover the broader transnational links that sustain organized crime and terror activities. Additionally, the agency believes that Bishnoi’s questioning could help uncover broader organized crime syndicates active across India.
Authorities say that bringing back a fugitive of Bishnoi’s profile sends a strong message to international crime networks that Indian agencies are tightening their global coordination and surveillance.
