Britney Spears has reportedly finalized the sale of her entire music catalogue to US-based publishing giant Primary Wave in a deal worth an estimated $50–$60 million, according to sources cited by multiple entertainment outlets on January 16, 2026. The transaction includes her master recordings, publishing rights, and future royalties from hits spanning her 25-year career.
The move marks a major shift for Spears, who regained control of her personal affairs in November 2021 after ending her 13-year conservatorship. Industry insiders say the sale provides immediate financial security and frees her from ongoing management of a complex catalogue while allowing Primary Wave to leverage its marketing and sync licensing expertise to maximize long-term value.
Primary Wave, which manages catalogues for artists like Stevie Nicks, Chicago, and Smokey Robinson, plans to aggressively pursue placements in film, TV, commercials, and streaming playlists. Spears retains her likeness, name, and image rights, which the deal does not include.
