BOSAG Inaugurates Governing Council and Advisory Board as Part of Bold Five-Year Strategy

Ghana’s Business Outsourcing Services Association is making a major push to turn the country into a global hub for business process outsourcing , IT-enabled services , and global business services , with the formal launch of its governing council and advisory board. The inauguration took place alongside the unveiling of BOSAG’s ambitious five-year strategic plan, which targets the creation of 100,000 international-facing jobs by 2030.

Transforming Ghana into a Global Outsourcing Destination

At the heart of BOSAG’s new plan is a vision that elevates Ghana’s outsourcing sector from a nascent industry into a globally competitive services hub.

By aligning these strategic priorities with national development goals, BOSAG aims not only to expand business services but also to catalyze economic transformation by connecting Ghanaian youth to meaningful, internationally relevant work.

This governing body will guide BOSAG’s operations, enforce good governance, and ensure the association’s mission remains aligned with Ghana’s broader socio-economic development goals.

Strategic Guidance from the Advisory Board

Complementing the council is the newly established Advisory Board, an expert-driven, non-executive body tasked with providing strategic direction and external insight. While it does not formally vote on day-to-day operations, its influence is significant: it helps shape high-level thinking, strengthens stakeholder alignment, and bridges BOSAG with government, academia, and the private sector.

Board members include key institutions such as the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat, the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Ghana Digital Centres, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana, Generation Ghana, the Federation of GBS Associations, Soronko Academy, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, and Association of Business Service Leaders .

Aligning with Government Priorities and Digital Transformation

Government officials at the event strongly endorsed BOSAG’s strategic plan. Delivering remarks on behalf of the Chief of Staff, the Deputy Spokesperson emphasized that creating 100,000 jobs aligns with national goals for youth employment, digital skills development, and economic inclusion.

The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation echoed this sentiment, announcing partnerships with global tech giants such as Huawei, MTN, Amazon Web Services, and Oracle. These partnerships will support training programs in cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity, and other critical areas, while upcoming legislative frameworks including a Startup Act and cybersecurity regulations aim to provide a robust foundation for Ghana’s digital sector.
