Delhi car blast case has taken a more serious turn after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) found that the terror module was not only behind the explosion near the Red Fort but was also planning Hamas-style attacks using drones inside India. The new findings point to a larger conspiracy aimed at carrying out multiple high-impact strikes.
NIA Says Terror Module Tested Drone-Based Attack Plans
According to the NIA probe, the group had reportedly started exploring ways to use drones for attacks, similar to tactics used by Hamas and other foreign terror outfits. Investigators believe the module wanted to drop explosives or carry out targeted strikes on crowded locations and security installations.

The idea, as per sources, was to use low-flying drones to bypass traditional ground security and create maximum panic. This plan shows a clear attempt to copy modern terror techniques seen in conflict zones abroad.
Delhi Car Blast Seen as Trial Run for Bigger Operations
Officials now suspect that the car blast in Delhi was not just a standalone incident but part of a wider testing phase. The explosion, which took place near a high-security area, may have been used to check response time, security patterns, and possible vulnerabilities in the capital.
As the investigation progressed, digital evidence, communication records, and recovered material pointed toward future operations that would have involved drones and more sophisticated methods than a single car bomb.
Suspects Studied Foreign Terror Tactics and Online Material
The NIA probe also suggests that the accused had been watching videos, manuals, and online content related to drone warfare and improvised explosives. They reportedly took inspiration from Hamas-style attacks, where drones and rockets are used to target urban and military areas.
Investigators say the module tried to blend local knowledge of Delhi’s layout with imported tactics, making the threat more complex. This combination of foreign methods and local ground access is what has worried security agencies the most.
Security Agencies Now Focus on Drone Threat to Urban Areas
With this new angle, security agencies have shifted part of their focus to anti-drone preparedness. Central and Delhi Police officials are reviewing airspace security over sensitive zones, including government buildings, tourist hubs, and religious places.
Agencies are discussing measures such as drone radar systems, anti-drone guns, jamming technology, and stricter rules around the sale and use of high-end drones. Officials say that as terror tactics evolve, security planning must also move beyond only ground-level checks.
