Ethiopia is preparing for what leaders call a “new era,” one focused on economic transformation, stability, and long-term development. Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh shared this message during a national development conference, emphasizing that the country now stands at a turning point.
Ethiopia Pushes Forward With Major Reforms
Temesgen explained that the government plans to push forward with structural reforms that aim to strengthen key sectors. Agriculture, manufacturing, and energy remain at the top of the priority list.

He said Ethiopia has enough potential to accelerate growth, but the country must improve productivity and invest in modern technology. According to him, stronger performance in these sectors will help Ethiopia reduce poverty and create jobs for its expanding youth population.
Government Focuses on Peace and National Unity
The Deputy PM also discussed the need for peace across all regions. He said lasting progress depends on stable communities, stronger institutions, and dialogue among political groups.
The government has been working to rebuild areas affected by recent conflicts, and Temesgen highlighted that national unity will remain central to every major plan. By improving cooperation among regions, the leadership hopes to keep development on track.
Ethiopia continues to channel resources into major infrastructure upgrades. New roads, energy projects, and water systems are moving ahead with the goal of improving daily life for millions of citizens.
