Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge has strongly criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah, demanding his resignation after a blast in Delhi left the nation in shock. Kharge called the incident a serious security failure, holding the Centre accountable for endangering public safety.
Delhi Blast Raises National Security Concerns
The explosion, which occurred in the capital’s busy area, has reignited concerns about India’s internal security system. Preliminary reports indicate that investigators are still determining the cause of the blast and identifying those responsible. Law enforcement agencies have increased vigilance across major cities following the attack.

Kharge said such repeated lapses “prove the central government’s inability to maintain law and order.” He argued that if the Home Ministry cannot ensure the safety of citizens in the capital, it has failed in its core responsibility.
The Congress leader accused the BJP-led government of being more focused on political propaganda than strengthening intelligence and security frameworks. He demanded accountability, stating that Amit Shah must take moral responsibility and step down immediately.
Other opposition voices joined Kharge in criticizing the government, urging for a comprehensive review of India’s counterterrorism strategies and improved coordination among security agencies.
Centre Yet to Respond to Priyank Kharge’s Allegations
The Ministry of Home Affairs has not issued an official statement on Kharge’s remarks. However, sources suggest that an internal security audit and investigation have been initiated. Authorities have appealed to citizens to remain calm and avoid spreading misinformation until official updates are released.
The blast comes amid heightened political tensions, making security and accountability a key national debate in the days ahead.
